“Is it a good time to sell my motorhome?” is a question we are frequently asked. That question does not have a one-size-fits-all response. It is determined by a variety of factors, including personal circumstances. However, in this post, we’ll look at some of the factors that might influence the timing of your sell in order to meet your particular objectives.

Motorhome Sales and Seasonality

Motorhome owners are well aware of the market’s unpredictability. The impact of the new registration seasons on sales will be discussed. Then there are the many seasons of the year.

“Winter is a bad season to sell; wait till spring!” is a traditional adage. Seasonality has minimal influence on used motorhome sales, because you’ll be shocked to hear. Each year and, Motorhome Depot sells hundreds of motorhomes, and the amount we sell each month is fairly telling. Only in December do we notice a significant drop in motorhome sales. That’s to be expected. However, many motorhomes are sold in December – just not as many as in June!

There isn’t much fluctuation in the percentage of motorhomes sold over the other eleven months of the year. Weather does not appear to have much of an influence on sales.

January and February, two of the coldest months of the year, are excellent months for buying and selling older RVs. So, if you’re thinking about selling your RV, don’t let the season influence your decision. This has little bearing on the final price or the saleability of your RV.

Market Situations in General

Obviously, market circumstances change over time. The major causes of this, as with so many things, would be the status of the UK economy and consumer confidence. However, we have found that the used motorhome industry is significantly less susceptible to this than many other industries. Surprisingly, the used market appears to be less affected by the state of the economy than the new motorhome industry.

What is the reason behind this? Most likely due to the demographics of used motorhome purchasers. Most people are at a point in their lives when they are financially secure, if not retired. In many circumstances, this means that the decision to buy a motorhome or anything else more important does not have to be made. Wider economic conditions are more likely to influence the price range being examined, rather than influencing the choice to buy or not buy at all.

Fluctuations in currency exchange rates

Currency exchange rate swings may surprise you, but they definitely have an influence on used motorhome costs. And then people can buy my motorhome.
